I was also pleased to see that when docked, the iRobot j7+ will automatically empty its dust bin and put it into Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal. This is a huge improvement over the majority of competitors that require you to open and empty the bag manually. It's a small detail but it can save you some time and frustration.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni is a sleek-looking robot that delivers impressive cleaning performance. Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni remains an excellent option for those looking for a self-emptying mop and vacuum. The mop is just as powerful as its vacuums, and it has an attractive design than the Roomba. Although it doesn't have a remote control, its smart capabilities will make up for the lack of one. With the app, you can quickly start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION Extended

Shark's top self-emptying robot vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent option for those who want hands-off cleaning with the highest level of performance. The robot vacuum has a big bin that can store the equivalent of a month's worth dirt, and the base can be programmed to automatically empty it at the end of every cleaning session for storage that lasts longer. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most flexible on the market. It can clean carpets and hard floors. The robot does great job maneuvering around furniture and can even traverse stairs and rooms that are fully carpeted with ease.

I tested the ION XL using our standard test for debris in a family space and kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rugs. It did an excellent job vacuuming, removing debris and pet hair from the floors, and even picked up some of the most stubborn crumbs that accumulated on carpets. It was also good at moving and didn't hit my bar stools as did the iRobot J7+ in this test. The only downside to the ION XL is that it does not detect cords, shoes or toys that are within its path. It is necessary to clean your home before you use this vacuum to avoid them.

The ION XL isn't as efficient as the iRobot j7+, but it is an excellent alternative if you don't wish to spend more than $500 on a robot cleaner. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also performs better at vacuuming bare floors and removing pet hair, but it doesn't perform as well on high- or high-pile carpet.

It is also not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is still a solid option. The ION XL is a powerful machine that has a large capacity bin. It is controlled by an app or a voice command and is easy to maintain. It also has affordable.
