1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. It uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to the one used in self emptying robot vacuum pet hair-driving vehicles. It can scan an area up to 32 feet across by 360 degrees. This results in more precise mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille, making it easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than conventional mops. In my tests the X2 Omni took just over an hour to clean its pad and get to work, and I noticed that it was more precise than previous models that were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms as well as make "Zambani patterns" both in and out of the middle of the room. However, the Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it on our hardwood floors, which is an outstanding performance. It also did a fantastic job on carpet and tile cleaning up more than 90% of dirt and other debris.

This robot mop and vacuum has an enormous docking station that provides cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L disposable bag that's simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that permits frequent washing and drying between mopping runs.

The Deebot T10 features a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads when it is using them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dirt, dust and other grime will gradually build up at the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's stylish even if the claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite be realized.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape with sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated space for sensors. On the other side there's a motorized floorbrush as well as a single side brush that moves dust away from the edges and into the main path of its'mouth.' It's a little chatty, and will tell you what it's planning to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something is wrong (it isn't able to charge, for instance).

This advanced model collects pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self emptying robot vacuum pet hair-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle-avoiding technology. It's not cheap however, if you are able to manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who wish to be able to leave their homes free to do other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and it is equipped with a battery-powered ElectroWall that lets you set boundaries that the robot isn't allowed to be allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the cost. The basic navigation system employs an extremely basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than other models on this list. However it's still able to get under furniture and into corners, and its mopping mode worked very well during our tests it picked up pet hair and other debris with ease.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles as well as floor surfaces that are bare. It also makes use of intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It can be sent to a particular area and includes a variety of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It allows you to stop and resume cleaning, making it perfect for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can carry up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It has a set angled side brushes to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, dander and allergens.

The robot vacuum feels sturdy and well-constructed, and it works with a smartphone app which lets you alter the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning times in advance. The app lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications in the event of any issues during a cleaning session. You can make use of your voice to control it with an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you don't have either of those, you can mark off areas with physical boundary marker strips.
